Turkey Customs has implemented a new national rule that requires ATA Carnet holders and/or their authorized representatives to provide an excel file stored on a memory key to Turkish Customs at the time of entry. Turkish Customs will upload the file into its national Customs system.

Please note this is a current requirement that went into effect without consultation of the guarantee associations or the trade. The ATA Carnet community is working diligently to have this requirement reversed. In the meantime to avoid any potential customs delays we recommend you prepare accordingly.

For Professional Equipment items:  Turkish customs strictly requires the representative to hold a foreign passport.

Turkish Customs may restrict entry to 6 months.  Holder must obtain approval from customs to extend to the Carnet expiry.

Authorized Representatives

Representative who handles the Carnet importation must sign box “F” of the importation & re-exportation vouchers.

The name of the representative in Turkey must be clearly indicated in Box “B”, which includes the green cover, importation and re-exploration voucher.

The representative shown in Box “B” must obtain a POA approved by the Turkish Consulate to confirm the validity of the proxy.
