Our staff will also be participating in two key presentations at G.TEC. This is the second annual G.TEC event the National Customs Brokers & Forwarder’s Association of America Educational Institute (NEI) is holding in which customs brokers, freight forwarders, NVOCCs, OTI, service providers, importers, exporters and all global logistics professionals are provided with an opportunity to get up to date on industry developments and connect with colleagues.

In addition, Jason will be participating in a panel discussion on Tuesday, August 9th, covering the topic, What Intermediaries and Shippers Should Know about the Carmack Amendment & Interstate Cargo Claims. The presentation will cover how the Carmack Amendment applies to the transportation industry and logistics service providers and what you should expect. The panel will identify statutory responsibilities for intermediaries and best practices to manage your exposures including insurance coverage such as Contingent Cargo Liability and Errors and Omissions (E&O). Additional risk management strategies will be outlined for shippers to employ along with the use of Cargo insurance to minimize financial loss.
Amanda along with an industry colleague will be presenting on Tuesday, August 9th, on the topic, What’s New in ATA Carnets. Her presentation will cover the continued growing popularity of ATA Carnets as a strong option for the international trade community. She’ll review what types of international trade movements are best served by the use of an ATA Carnet as well as go over any improvements to the system and additional signatory countries on the ATA Carnet agreement.
